Delete Your Account — Know Your Plate

⚠️

This action is permanent. Once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered. Please make sure you want to proceed before submitting a request.

How to Delete Your Account

You have full control over your personal data. You can delete your account immediately from within the app, or submit an email request if you no longer have access to the app:

Option 1: Instant In-App Deletion (Recommended)

To delete your account immediately without any waiting period:

Open App Settings

Open Know Your Plate and tap the Settings tab in the bottom bar.

Navigate to Account

Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete account.

Confirm Deletion

Tap Delete account in the dialog. The app will immediately purge local cached logs, halt background tasks, revoke your authentication session, and disconnect active family links.

Option 2: Email Deletion Request (If App is Uninstalled)

If you have already deleted or uninstalled the app from your device:

Send an email from your registered address

Email us at knowyourplate.life@gmail.com from the same email address linked to your Know Your Plate account. This is required to verify your identity.

Use the exact subject line

Set your email subject to:
Delete My Account

We verify and process your request

We will verify the request matches your registered account and process verified deletion requests within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email when your data has been removed.

What Gets Permanently Deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove all of the following from our systems:

✓ Authentication account and sign-in credentials associated with Know Your Plate
✓ Account profile information (name, email, profile photo)
✓ Body metrics (age, height, weight, goal)
✓ All meal logs and meal entries
✓ Meal photos stored in Firebase Storage
✓ Nutrition analysis history and daily insights
✓ Family connections and connection data
✓ Meal feed events shared with connections
✓ Push notification tokens (FCM)
✓ Custom nicknames and connection photos
✓ All other user-generated content associated with your account

Data Retention After Deletion

Some information may be retained for a limited period where required by law or operational necessity. Any retained data is deleted automatically once the applicable period ends.

Security & fraud prevention

Minimal logs may be retained to detect and prevent abuse of the deletion request process itself.

Legal compliance

Where applicable law requires us to retain certain records, we will do so for the minimum required period only.

Backup recovery processes

Deleted data may remain in encrypted system backups for up to 30 days before being permanently overwritten as part of our standard backup rotation cycle.

ℹ️

Anonymised, aggregated analytics data (e.g. total number of meals logged across all users) does not identify you personally and is not deleted, as it contains no personal information.
